Today is Walt Disney’s 106th birthday; he was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago. The man who started it all, contrary to the rumors that it was all started by a mouse, was a complex human being with a variety of emotions, moods, and habits. As much as we idolize him for his multitude of creations, he was, in all actuality, a mere human. Yet, is it inconceivable that we would think of him as being touched by something more, when he has brought so much to each of us, in our own separate lives.
I would ask that each of you take a moment to remember Walt Disney today. Whether you remember him sitting on his desk, working on a train, accepting an award, or walking around Disneyland consider what it was that makes him, and his creations, special to you.“I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter. With the laugh comes the tears, and in developing motion pictures or television shows, you must combine all the facts of life – drama, pathos, and humor.”
