A delightful array of curds

It is a remarkable turn of the taste buds that many guests no longer accept subpar fare when dining at a quick service location within Walt Disney World. What is surprising, however, is that the still believe since they are dining with the masses that they have to give up a slow dining experience and ambiance. While there are a multitude of locations in which guests can indeed have a true dining experience at a quick service establishment, my favorite is, of course, the Boulangerie Patisserie.While French cuisine is some of the finest in the world, one of their truly remarkable exports is the pastime of people watching. Sitting with a small plate, a glass of wine, a cup of coffee, and a newspaper or fond friend and watching the world pass by. The Boulangerie Patisserie is located along La Petite Rue, or little street, and come complete with an elevated patio filled with quaint tables. Souvenirs de France, the model Parisian train station located at the end of the street, also houses several tables, though the environment is a bit more bustling.

After securing your window onto the world passing by there is the small matter of what to dine on. While anything on the menu at Boulangerie Patisserie is well worth more than a few moments of your time, for a true taste of France there is only one option. The cheese plate, weighing in at a whopping $5.95, is an absolute delight. While in the patisserie’s case, the cheese plate may seem underwhelming, the three hunks of cheese (munster, brie, and a type of swiss) come complete with a mini baguette and is in reality enough to split. Couple this with a dessert, I recommend the raspberry schuss, and a pick from either the vineyard or the espresso machine, and there is no finer meal in all of Walt Disney World.

Guest can bask in the unique flavors of the cheeses, the crustiness of the bread, and the Florida sun. They can watch the busy tourist hustling to the next item on their touring plan as the race from Impressions de France, or the stragglers with no particular destination, or even the guests perusing through the wonderful shops and markets of the France pavilion. No matter their company or conversation, taking time to dine along the curb of the Boulangerie Patisserie offers a quality dining experience for pennies that is, in a word, priceless.
