When talking about Kidani Village, most guests think of the animals on the savannah, the water playground pool complex, the lanterns and proverbs scattered about the resort, or the new flavors available from Sanaa. What is often overlooked is the amazing collection of sub-Saharan art on display throughout the resort. Many of the pieces were created to mark the passage of a specific event or stages and cycles of life. The pieces range from hand woven cloth to woodcarving and even metalwork.Among the proverbs of Kadani Village is one that holds especially true of the work presented within. The proverb states, “You must judge a person by the works of their hands.” If that is the case, then these artists are truly great people. Here are a few of my favorite pieces that are on display.
