Once upon a time, Disney-MGM Studios was a functioning film and animation studio. Animators crafted features, including Brother Bear and Lilo and Stitch, while the soundstages and exteriors were utilized for several different projects. Among these projects were the Disney productions Ernest Saves Christmas and Newsies, Disney Channel’s Adventures in Wonderland, and the Warner Bros. film Passenger 57.
The shootout that was photographed below, prior to the park’s opening, has clearly been staged for the camera. However, it does give you a sense of what guests could have seen on any given day during a tram tour through the backlot streets and residences or simply walking around the Studios in its production heyday.
