There hasn’t been a whole lot of news out of Walt Disney
World this past week. Pete’s Silly Sideshow and Big Top Souvenirs opened to
rave reviews, Olivia Newton John is no longer hosting Candlelight Processional,
and the walls continue to come down around Fantasyland ahead of the now slated grand
openings of Fantasyland and the redesigned Test Track on December 6.
Without being able to see the new elements in the Storybook
Circus, I’m hesitant to make any proclamations. However, from what I have seen
of the previous portions of the land to open, as well as early word from others
who have been through these areas, the team who has been working on this corner
of the Fantasyland expansion just continues to knock it out of the park!
With the removal of Olivia Newton John from the slate of
narrators, there is currently a gap in the hosting line-up from this year’s
Candlelight Processional from December 14 until December 19. This isn’t
entirely surprising, as projects can be fluid in the entertainment industry,
and it is actually fairly common to see these type of changes right up to the
date of the Candlelight Processional events. The more entertaining aspect at
this point is pondering who could be the replacement!
Last, but certainly not least, the scheduled openings of
Fantasyland and Test Track. Now, we all know that while these attractions will
certainly allow guests in for soft openings before the December 6 ceremonial
dates. Fantasyland, as the larger and more visible change to its park’s
landscape, is the most anticipated of the openings. As for Test Track, the
SimCar is already visible over at the Cool Wash and the track layout isn’t
seeing any major changes. The new Test Track experience however, running
through my mind like a ramp up version of Sum of All Thrills, will be something
to see!
There may not have been a lot of big happenings around Walt
Disney World this week, but definitely a lot of little things to keep our eyes
on and to look forward to. For me, I am most looking forward to the opening of
the redesigned Test Track. What piece of news really hit home for you this

All the good reviews and great photos I've seen of Storybook Circus have really made my week. Dumbo (the film), Casey Jr. (in any form) and Golden Age supporting characters from the cartoon shorts are 3 of my very favorite Disney things, so seeing this area so wonderfully brought to life has me very excited about seeing it all on my next trip.
Now I totally forgive them for the fence around Casey. :)
There have been lots of rumors about changes to the Youth Education Series program in 2013 recently. Anxiously awaiting hearing something official as it's been a good option for discounted park tickets for many.
Rich - The little details are incredible (from what I've seen). I cannot wait to get down and explore it myself so I can bring more of these tales to life for all of the Gazette's readers!
